All I know is that I cried when I read that "letter" to your birth mom. That's some heavy stuff, darlin'! Just know I am sending G-R-E-A-T B-I-G H-U-G-S!!!!
"Melissa’a blog is inspiring for anyone that has been adopted or hopes to adopt via a fostering program. Her emotional writing is truthful and sometimes heartbreaking, but always leaves me wanting to read more. Her recent post of a letter to her birth mom on her own 40th birthday was a beautiful tribute of understanding and appreciation. I wish strength to Melissa in her quest for motherhood in the direction she chose willingly."
An ongoing tale of our most excellent (and terrifying) adventure yet.. adoption via foster care. Together with my Darling Husband and Auntie ("Nantie" for Nanny-Auntie .. a blessing from above) I chronicle our wild roller coaster of fostering and fostering to adopt.
We also have a herd of canines, fear the Lord and laugh a lot.
In 1999, a year after my own mother passed away I found out I, myself, was an adopted county baby. Life has some ironic twists but we all seem to come Full Circle.
This is our story.

Congratulations, Melissa! That was a great post and I'm glad Karen nominated you to win this award.
I think Graco has very good taste, and I told them so over there.
Congrats!
Couldn't think of anyone more deserving!
